Maureen Orkwis
Author:  (The Vadam Nore Murder Mystery Series, The Ghosts of Tiger Trail)

Originally from Flushing, New York, Maureen Catherine Orkwis and her family moved to Florida when she was six. That makes her a semi-native or a damn Yankee, depending on who you ask.

Maureen currently lives in a small town in North Central Florida, featured in her book, The Ghosts of Tiger Trail. She is most known for penning Murder Con, which was inspired when she wandered into an abandoned area during a Star Wars Celebration. Though the original story was to feature two cosplayers, Maureen, like many of her fans, became smitten with the fish-out-of-water detective, Sergeant Vadam Nore, who is now the main character of the Vadam Nore Murder Mystery Series. “He’s just too fun not to keep telling his stories.” Vadam’s only flaw (well, that we’ll count at least); he, like the rest of the characters in her head, keeps Maureen from cosplaying, which is her favorite hobby.

Scott Fensterer
Industry Guest:  (Owner, Scott Fensterer Sculpture Studio; Creator and Host of Monster Manor.)

Scott’s love for classic monsters began after seeing an old Castle Films 8mm home movie of Universal’s Frankenstein. It inspired his life-long fascination with art in cinema… From design to makeup, this passion continued to grow through his childhood. While other kids were busy watching movies, Scott was busy making them with neighborhood friends. This lifelong affection for his “lovable monsters” spreads into every corner of his world!

Since that time, Scott has been in the commercial arts field for over 25 years, working in film (Madea’s BOO – Special Makeup Effects Department), television (Robot Chicken, Season 5, Face Off/Game Face), toy prototype production (Mego, Proto-Hype Studios, Scott Fensterer Sculpture Studio), theme parks (Universal Studios, Walt Disney Corp), haunts, and more, but is best known for his appearances on the hit SYFY series FACE OFF and its spin-off, GAME FACE. He has won numerous awards, and was a 2019 nominee for the coveted Rondo award for “best event” for Gill-A-Bration, the 65th anniversary celebration the Creature from the Black Lagoon, an event held at Silver Springs, one of the filming locations of the series and attended by Ricou Browning, David J. Skal, and James-Michael Roddy.

Scott and Monster Manor co-creator, Michael Kinald conceptualized Monster Manor following a comment comparing his home to that of Gomez and Morticia Addams… A Monster Manor. With that, Monster Manor was born. By November of 2020, the show page was launched… and by January 2, 2021, the premier episode aired. Scott interviews each guest with respect and appreciation for the work they bring us.

Boris Vyoryetski
Actor:  (Boris of Monster Manor and Host of Boris's Spooky Fun-Time Movie Show)

Mike Kinald’s love of performing goes back to his childhood. One of his high school English teachers introduced him to improv as a means to channel his class-clown status to a more constructive end. Later he took classes to expand on his basic knowledge of improv, and was soon writing and appearing in college productions.

He was later involved with an improv and sketch group in the New York Renaissance Faire and became a staff writer for the Stockwood Renaissance Faire for their 2001 and 2002 seasons.

After moving to Texas in 2003, he continued to hone his art through improv classes. His first class in Austin was level 1 at The Hideout Theater. There, he met his future troupe mates attending “Tuesday Night Jams”. In 2007, he was asked to join the troupe “Improv for Evil” which debuted in May of that year at The Hideout. Highlights of his improv work include “Grim Noir”(created & directed), “Improv for Evil”, “Blue Maestro”, “Holy 1960’s Batman”, “Splatter Theater”, “Uncle Edgar” (co-creator) and “Late Night Time Machine with Teddy Hancox” (just to name a few).

He, like many kids of the seventies, grew up watching the old television horror hosts like Zacherly and the Chiller Theater television show, so it was natural for him to couple his love and respect for these great hosts with his love of improv… and "Boris Vyoryetski" was born! He is the co-creator of Monster Manor and writes/performs the sketch segments of the show.

Kilted Creature
Performers:  (Bagpipe Swamp Metal Tribute Band)

“There have been reported sightings of the Bagpipe playing Kilted Creature dating back to the Devonian Age. “KC”, along with his brother, “The Creature from the Black Lagoon”, shared the same pond as tadpoles. Well before his brothers’ run into much unexpected and mostly unwelcomed visitors, the Kilted Creature left the pool at an early age and travelled up to the northern hemisphere where he ended up moving in with his 2nd cousin, 4 times removed, in Loch Ness, Scotland, where he also got his first set of bagpipes. In their underwater lair they formed a rockin blues band and they travelled and performed throughout the entire region, but, alas, no one ever got to actually see them because when it came to promoting shows, Nessy was really, really bad at giving directions.

Fast forward to the 21st century and modern technology. On a more recent journey, KC happened into the “Claws and Dragons” Pub in Isle of Man, where he met a beautiful bar wench he calls “The Keeper”. They immediately had an animal attraction for each other and haven’t left each other since. The Kilted Creature has been seen and photographed and he has, much unlike his brother, finally given in to not being such a recluse anymore. Making his home in the mountains of North Carolina, the Kilted Creature can be seen, along with his cute little keeper, and their love-child “Sgt. Tadpole at Arms”, playing his bagpipes well beyond the Black Lagoon.”

Cap’n D. Lucas is the twin brother of Captain Lucas, who we all know had many dealings with the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
After hearing many stories about the Creature from his brother, Cap’n D. Lucas decided he would venture into the Black Lagoon to see if he could find the creature. When he arrived at the lagoon he spent many days searching and searching, soon he discovered a hidden river running out of the Black Lagoon. He sailed into it and almost immediately the river turned to raging waters and then opened up into a gigantic whirlpool. Cap’n D. Lucas and his boat “ATIR”, were pulled into the whirlpool, spinning them round and round until suddenly they were dragged upwards in a freak hurricane and landed smack dab into a lake where Kilted Creature and The Keeper were performing at a concert.

Quite startled at first, then very curious, Cap’n D. Lucas approached the duo and told them his adventurous tale in seeking out KC’s brother. They all made fast friends and when the Cap’n showed them he was a very good musician and all around good guy the rockin’ and rollin’ was on!
