Adrienne Barbeau Joins Fantasm 2021!
[ 213 days, 1 hour ago - 04/30/21 06:04 PM ]

We are incredibly happy to announce that the legendary ADRIENNE BARBEAU will be joining FANTASM ORLANDO October 1-3 at the Rosen Shingle Creek!

Now we're fairly certain there isn't need to list some of her iconic roles, but let's just give a few great examples anyway!: Teaming with her then husband John Carpenter, Adrienne played the smooth voiced Antionio Bay disc jockey "Stevie Wayne" in THE FOG and two years later, the tough as nails dystopian badass "Maggie" in ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK. She also had a fun cameo as the voice of a chess-cheating computer in the remarkable remake of THE THING!

Wes Craven's 1982 adaptation of SWAMP THING saw Adrienne play "Alice Cable", government love interest to the muck-encrusted DC Comics hero! George A. Romero's CREEPSHOW provided her an immensely memorable, if not deliciously unlikable turn as the rude and overbearingly abusive "Wilma Northrup" in a segment titled: "THE CRATE".

A few of her other vast film and television credits include: THE CANNONBALL RUN, BACK TO SCHOOL, MAUDE, THE DREW CAREY SHOW, and the voice of "Catwoman" in BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES.

Alan Maxson - Alien Planet film campaign!
[ 273 days, 22 hours ago - 02/28/21 08:02 PM ]

Hello friends of Fantasm Orlando!

You might remember me as one of the guests in 2019. If not, I played the right head of King Ghidorah for Godzilla: King of the Monsters and we came out to visit for the awesome weekend. You all were so kind and wonderful to me and I want to share my next project with you.

I'm writing and directing a new feature film called Alien Planet in the vein of classic sci-fi movies like Enemy Mine. I was wondering if you'd take a moment to look at my spec trailer / campaign and possibly contribute. I have a ton of super awesome perks including the movie itself and being a producer on the film.

Thank you so much and I hope I return to Fantasm Orlando very soon!

Fantasm 2020 Postponed!
[ 493 days ago - 07/24/20 07:07 PM ]

Well friends, there unfortunately comes a time when painful choices have to be made...

With current health and public safety concerns facing the world at this point in our history, we've had to weigh our options if we could move forward safely with FANTASM 2020.

After working with the Rosen Shingle Creek and not knowing if they will be reopening on time due to the current worldwide situation, we have made the ultimate decision to ensure everyone's safety and reschedule FANTASM until next year. We collectively feel that this is the right decision and will allow the show to be not only safer and worry free for fans of all that is horror, but also bigger and better in terms of having the extra time to plan. We strive to provide everyone with a worthy convention free of worries and other concerns.

Please note that this was a lengthy process where we had to have things re-contracted with the hotel and also agents and guests had to be contacted before we could release the information to everyone. We certainly didn't want to leave everyone hanging without having a way to move forward.

With all that disheartening news having been said and out of the way, we are beyond excited to be able to tell you that the new confirmed dates for FANTASM YEAR 2 will be OCTOBER 1-3, 2021 and is still being held at the Rosen Shingle Creek Orlando Resort.

So what does this mean for our fans?

  • The Rosen Shingle Creek will be sending emails to everyone who booked rooms with options to have them re-booked for the new 2021 dates.
  • Already purchased tickets to Fantasm will AUTOMATICALLY roll over to the new 2021 dates.

Please give us time to change over the website to the current information; and, rest assured, we will be getting merchant booth sales and panels online as quickly as possible.

Thank you all for supporting us and we will see you at FANTASM in 2021!

Fantasm welcomes Tom Atkins for 2020!

Actor:  (Halloween III, Night of the Creeps, Creepshow, The Fog, Escape From New York)

Atkins began his career in stage plays both on-and-off Broadway, before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television. His first movie role was in The Detective, which starred Frank Sinatra.

After many appearances in TV series and movies - often playing police detectives - Atkins began working within the horror and science fiction genres. He starred in two films directed by John Carpenter: he appeared as Nick Castle in the 1980 ghost story The Fog and as Rehme in the 1981 science fiction thriller Escape from New York. He then took a leading role as Dr. Dan Challis in the sequel Halloween III: Season of the Witch directed by Tommy Lee Wallace and produced by John Carpenter. He did further work with George A. Romero, appearing in three of the latter's projects: in the Romero-Stephen King project, Creepshow (1982), in which he plays the overbearing father of a young Joe Hill (King's son) in the wraparound segment; then in another anthology, Two Evil Eyes (1990), based upon tales by Edgar Allan Poe; and Bruiser (2000). He portrayed Detective Ray Cameron in the 1986 cult horror film Night of the Creeps, a role Atkins calls his very favorite.

He has nevertheless continued to act in both the thriller and police procedural genre. He is well known to movie goers for his role as Michael Hunsaker in the Richard Donner hit film Lethal Weapon (1987), with Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, and Gary Busey; the film was produced by Donner and Joel Silver, written by Shane Black. He also took a role in the action-thriller, Striking Distance (1993), alongside Bruce Willis, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Tom Sizemore. In television, Atkins played Lt. Tommy Lee Wallace Joins Fantasm 2020!
[ 585 days, 20 hours ago - 04/22/20 11:04 PM ]

Fantasm welcomes Tommy Lee Wallace for 2020!

Actor:  (Director: Halloween III, Fright Night 2, IT, The Twilight Zone (1985) - Actor: The Fog)

Tommy Lee Wallace is an American director, writer, producer, and actor. He got his start working with good friend John Carpenter starting on John's first two films Dark Star & Assault on Precinct 13. It wasn't until Halloween (1978) where Tommy really began to show his talent. Tommy wore many hats on Halloween including Production Designer and Editor. He was also responsible for the iconic look of Michael Myers aka The Shape by converting an old Don Post Studios Captain Kirk/William Shatner mask into the iconic mask we all know today. Working on such a tight budget Tommy stepped into the role of Michael Myers for various key scenes because as Production Designer he would know exactly how to break certain props that they didn't have the budget to do it more than once. Most notably are the closet attack, stairway attack and breaking through the kitchen door.

Although having worked in diverse genres, Tommy is probably best known for his contribution to horror films, most notably its many sequels. Early on he scripted Amityville II: The Possession (1982) and quickly moved on to both write and direct the John Carpenter produced Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) that starred cult horror icon Tom Atkins. He directed Fright Night Part 2 (1988) based on a screenplay by Tom Holland and Stephen King's  It (1990), a coming-of-age horror tale adapted from the bestselling novel by Stephen King.

Over the years Tommy has worked on over 25 feature films and TV projects including Big Trouble in Little China (1986), The Boy Who Could Fly (1986), Aloha Summer (1988), Far From Home (1989),  John Carpenter's Vampires: Los Muertos (2002) and 3 segments of Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone (1985).
